Voice improvement sharing
This optional setting is off by default. While it is on, TalkToHerd may send the words of voice requests it could not handle, after automatic redaction of animal tags, animal names, group names and the farm name. Redaction can miss things. Audio is never sent. Farm, animal and user identity are never sent. Telegram, when configured, receives only counts. Rows are kept for 365 days and then deleted. You can turn the setting off at any time. Turning it off deletes requests that have not been sent. Requests already sent cannot be tied back to an account.
Error and crash reporting
To find and fix faults, the TalkToHerd app and servers send error reports to Sentry, a service provider that stores them in its European Union region. In the app this applies to released versions only, not to development builds. A report is created when the app crashes, when data sync fails unexpectedly, or when a server error occurs. It contains the type of error and where in the program code it happened, the app or server version, the device model and operating system version, the environment (staging or production), and, for server errors, the request method, the request path (which can include internal record identifiers) and a request ID. Error messages are removed before sending, because they can contain data. Reports do not include request bodies, cookies, sign-in tokens, voice audio or transcripts, your name, email address or user ID, screenshots, or the contents of your farm, animal or health records. As with any internet connection, the sending device’s network address is visible to the provider when a report is delivered. Reports are used only to diagnose and fix faults.
